Yering Sculpture Exhibition

The Yering Station Sculpture Exhibition & Awards is a collaborative event between the Yarra Valley Arts Council & Yering Station, a premier winery in the Yarra Valley region of Victoria, Australia. The exhibition has grown incrementally since October 2001 & is now an iconic event on the Victorian Arts calendar attracting strong interstate interest.

Yering Station’s contemporary arts program encompasses painting, photography & sculpture & enhances the experience of our visitors. The sculpture exhibition is respected for its consistency & longevity & endeavors to showcase a cross section of contemporary Australian sculptural practice from established & emerging artists.

The sculpture exhibition is staged in the superbly landscaped gardens designed by Michael McCoy & offers ample opportunities for placement of outdoor sculpture, while the long indoor corridors & breezeway offers indoor & sheltered space.

The sculpture exhibition takes a 30% commission on art sales, 20 % of which is donated to Yering Stations preferred charity LARCH, Leukaemia Auxiliary of the Royal Children’s Hospital, while 10% is made available to the Yarra Valley Arts council to promote its support of the arts in the Yarra Valley.

The sculpture exhibition is supported by long term sponsors who relate to the vision & aims of the exhibition in fostering the growth of contemporary Australian sculpture. Arnold Bloch Leibler – lawyers & advisors, the Shire of Yarra Ranges & Dame Elisabeth Murdoch have been particularly strong in this regard.

This year we are able to offer a major prize award of $12,000 with supportive prizes. An artists fund has been procured to pay all finalists a small participation fee towards travel costs etc. Finalists are encouraged to select their own site which may best present their work.

We are also supported by a substantial list of current & past judges & mentors in the arts world who have been part of our selection panel & assist us in moving forward. Notably:
Ken Scarlett OAM
Dianna Gold, Director, Gallery 101
Geoffrey Edwards, Director, Geelong Gallery
